Box League - how it works

The box league is recalculated at the end of each calendar month ready for the new month.

Promotion or demotion within the league is determined by the number of points gained by each player in the division.

Box league games should be played as 'best of 5' - i.e. first to 3 games wins. If you run out of time and no player has 3 games, then the score when the match finished should be recorded, e.g. 2-2, 2-1 etc.
Points are calculated as follows :

0 games	-	3 points
1 game	-	4 points
2 games	-	5 points
3 games	-	7 points

so if you have 5 players in your division and play all your matches and don't win any games, you will still earn 12 points.

If you leave the league for whatever reason and want to rejoin, the procedure is as follows :

Let the box league admin person (currently Danny or Derek) know you wish to rejoin. They will update the club web page to list you as a box league joiner
Play at least 2 friendly games with current box league players in the month prior to you rejoining
Inform the box league admin person what your results were before the start of the new month
The box league admin will update the web site with your proposed starting division
In the new month, you will be positioned in a division appropriate to your reported results
If no friendly game results are reported, you will start in the new month at the bottom of the league
